How can we help you?

• Determine EEI in COCH climate chambers reaching -50°C and obtain the basis for the EU energy label
• Test freezers in four climate classes (SN/N/ST/T) per Ecodesign Regulation 2019/2016
• Confirm freezing capacity [kg/24h] and internal temperature per EN 60335-2-24
• Obtain reports accepted by notified bodies and required for EPREL database registration
• Conduct low-temperature testing of materials and components down to -50°C at PCA AB 308 laboratory

Low-Temperature Testing Scope

COCH performs low-temperature tests including:

• Internal temperature measurement of freezer and refrigerator compartments
• Freezing capacity measurement [kg/24h] per EN 60335-2-24
• EEI determination per Ecodesign Regulation 2019/2016
• Tests under four climate conditions: SN (+10°C to +32°C), N (+16°C to +32°C), ST (+16°C to +38°C), T (+16°C to +43°C)
• Electrical safety checks per EN 60335-2-24 and EN 60335-2-89
• Thermal resistance testing of materials and components to -50°C

Measured Parameters

• Freezer and refrigerator compartment temperature [°C]
• Freezing capacity [kg/24h] (1-, 2-, 3-star classes)
• Energy consumption E [kWh/24h] per climate class
• EEI [%] - basis for EU energy label
• Energy class (A to G per new regulation from 2021)

COCH Test Chambers

| Chamber | T Range | Volume |

|---------|---------|--------|

| Low-temperature | -50°C to -10°C | up to 2000 L |

| Climatic | -30°C to +55°C | up to 5000 L |

Applications

• Domestic and commercial refrigerator-freezers
• Industrial chest and upright freezers
• Food and pharmaceutical storage freezers
• Ice cream production equipment
