Why is electrical testing of refrigeration equipment critical?

Electrical testing of refrigeration equipment is a key element in ensuring safe and efficient operation. Tests detect faults or abnormalities in electrical systems that could lead to failures, fire and shock hazards, or reduced energy efficiency.

Users gain confidence that equipment meets safety and performance requirements, and manufacturers obtain the certificates and test reports needed for market access. We test in our Kraków laboratory (PCA AB 308) and directly at the client’s premises.

Electrical safety testing follows PN-EN 60335 series standards and supports both LVD 2014/35/EU conformity assessment and the Polish B safety mark. On request we also measure energy consumption, power draw and starting currents, and run abnormal-operation simulations.

  • LVD Directive 2014/35/EU conformity assessment
  • Full testing package for the Polish B safety mark
  • Power draw, starting currents and energy consumption
  • Mobile on-site testing at the manufacturer’s facility

Turnaround & confidentiality

Scope and schedule are agreed individually for each product type and test package. Technical data and results are covered by confidentiality — we routinely sign NDAs on request. Quotation after enquiry to laboratorium@coch.pl.

Frequently asked questions

Key information about the course and requirements of electrical tests at COCH.

Placing any refrigeration or air-conditioning appliance (an electrical product) on the EU market requires demonstrating compliance with the Low Voltage Directive LVD 2014/35/EU and, where applicable, the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Accredited laboratory reports from COCH AB 308 provide independent evidence for the CE declaration of conformity and support obtaining the voluntary Polish B safety mark.

Accreditation AB 308 – PCA & ILAC MRA

COCH Kraków is the only body in Poland authorised to issue ATP certificates. PCA accreditation AB 308 with ILAC MRA recognition guarantees international acceptance of all test reports and certificates.
