ILAC MRACOCH Kraków provides accredited temperature-distribution mapping for transport vehicles intended for medicinal products, in line with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Polish DPD expectations.
Tests follow PKN-DIN SPEC 91323:2019-08 — guidelines for the qualification of temperature-controlled commercial vehicles used to distribute human or veterinary pharmaceuticals. Mapping covers temperature distribution with and without cargo load, using a specialised climatic chamber that simulates summer and winter ambient conditions.
On the basis of the tests we determine the temperature map inside the transport unit, identify locations of minimum and maximum temperature, and compare measured values with readings from the sensors installed on the vehicle.
EU GDP Guidelines 2013/C 343/01 (chapters 2.4 and 9.4) emphasise training for staff handling temperature-sensitive products and require qualified equipment with temperature mapping under representative conditions, including seasonal variation.
This laboratory service is distinct from GDP product certification (PR-06). Mapping reports support cold-chain validation and may feed into certification where the requested scope includes temperature-distribution mapping.
Accredited temperature-distribution mapping and optional scenarios in the COCH climatic chamber — aligned with PKN-DIN SPEC 91323:2019-08.
Mapping of temperature distribution inside the cargo space without load, identification of minimum and maximum points (hot and cold spots), comparison with the vehicle’s own sensors.
Mapping under simulated cargo-load conditions to reflect representative distribution of pharmaceutical or temperature-sensitive goods.
Tests in the COCH climatic chamber with ambient conditions representative of summer (+30°C) and winter (−20°C) seasons for vehicles of various sizes.
Assessment of how door opening affects temperature distribution and recovery time during loading and unloading operations.
Simulation of refrigeration-unit failure or power loss to evaluate how long products remain within safe temperature limits.
Measurement of the time needed for the cooling or heating system to reach and stabilise the temperature set on the controller.
Hall length 22 m, height 4.6 m, width 4 m. Temperature regulation −20°C to +40°C, relative humidity 20–90%, air speed 0–4 m/s.
Thermally insulated road vehicles for perishable goods, isothermal containers for road/rail/sea, and insulated units for temperature-sensitive cargo including pharmaceutical vans.
