AC 036Voluntary certification for the common guarantee trademark „B” is a process in which independent, competent and objective certification bodies award the safety mark to products submitted by suppliers — including manufacturers, importers and distributors.
Products bearing the „B” mark are recognised as safe in use, modern, environmentally friendly and inspire confidence in customers. The rules of certification are set out in the Product Certification Programme for the Common Guarantee Trademark „B”, developed by the Committee for the Common Guarantee Trademark „B”.
Certification is conducted by the COCH Product Certification Body, accredited by PCA (AC 036). The basis for certification is safety requirements defined in national and international standards and in technical criteria. Tests whose results are used in the process are performed by research laboratories recognised as competent and independent of both the supplier and the recipient.
Detailed information on the programme can be obtained from the staff of the COCH Certification Department. Mark „B” does not replace CE marking where CE is required for placing a product on the EU market — the two paths can complement each other.

Comprehensive technical testing of product samples to confirm compliance with safety requirements set out in national and international standards and technical criteria.
Evaluation of the supplier’s quality management system, including review of system documentation and inspection of organisational and technical production conditions.
Ongoing supervision of the issued certificate — periodic checks of the supplier’s quality system and testing of products sampled from the supplier or the commercial market.
