Certified performance and European recognition

The Heat Pump KEYMARK is a voluntary European quality certification scheme owned by CEN (European Committee for Standardization). It certifies heat pump compliance with harmonised European standards and Ecodesign requirements for performance, energy efficiency and sound levels.

Choosing COCH as your KEYMARK partner means a complete in-house path: application review, accredited laboratory tests in our facilities (AB 308), certificate award by the product certification body (AC 036), and continuous annual FPC surveillance. COCH is officially registered in the European KEYMARK structure — test reports are directly accepted by KEYMARK certification bodies across Europe.

Unlike CE marking, which confirms minimum legal requirements, KEYMARK guarantees conformity with uniform European quality standards through independent Initial Type Testing (ITT) and factory inspection. A KEYMARK granted in one country is respected in all countries covered by the scheme. The certificate is valid for 10 years, subject to annual FPC audits and product surveillance tests every two years.

KEYMARK is widely used as a condition for heat pump eligibility in national subsidy programmes, including Poland’s ZUM list (Czyste Powietrze / Clean Air) and Germany’s BAFA. Testing covers Ecodesign Lot 1 and Lot 2 points under Regulations (EU) 813/2013 and 814/2013.

Which heat pump types can be certified?

The HP KEYMARK programme covers a wide range of heat pump products under the European certification scheme.

Space heater heat pumps

Products supplying heat to water-based central heating systems for space heating.

Combination heat pumps

Devices supplying heat for space heating and domestic hot water.

Water heater heat pumps

Products used for domestic hot water supply.

Units up to 400 kW thermal capacity

Heat pumps with higher thermal capacity for a range of applications.

Air-to-air heat pumps and air conditioners ≤ 12 kW

Certification for these devices was introduced in 2017 in response to market developments.

Gas, hybrid and hybrid combination heat pumps

Scope expanded in 2019 in response to growing market demand.
