What is Refrigeration Competence?

The PN-EN 22712 standard defines the levels of competence for personnel in refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pumps.

Training courses at the Central Institute of Refrigeration COCH Kraków prepare candidates for an independent certification exam aiming at an objective assessment and formal confirmation of refrigeration personnel qualifications in accordance with harmonized European standards.

According to the requirements of the PN-EN ISO 22712:2023-09 standard, certification is carried out in relation to specific tasks and levels of responsibility. Our training systematizes theoretical knowledge and provides practical tools for the efficient execution of operational, servicing, and measurement procedures.

By holding a certificate issued by a certification body accredited by the PCA (No. AC 056), installers and engineers gain an international, lifelong document proving the highest level of professionalism and professional reliability in the HVACR sector.

All-inclusive exam & organizational package

Prepayment for the training and exam procedure should be settled at least 3 days before the chosen date of the course. For participants, we provide comprehensive training materials, professionally prepared exam stations, hot restaurant meals, and free parking on the enclosed premises of COCH.

The new standard PN-EN ISO 22712:2023-09

A key standard for the qualifications of refrigeration personnel, which replaced the long-standing PN-EN 13313 standard.

Approved by the Polish Committee for Standardization, the PN-EN ISO 22712:2023-09 standard (Refrigerating systems and heat pumps - Competence of personnel) regulates professional qualifications throughout the European Union. It introduces strict safety and environmental requirements:

  • Precisely defined requirements regarding technical knowledge and practical skills of personnel,
  • Unified competence assessment procedures taking into account modern refrigerants (including natural and flammable A2L, A3),
  • Requirement of independent certification by accredited bodies, ensuring a high standard of installation services.
