Who is this training for?

Acquire the qualification required for legal and safe operation of filling portable pressure vessels with a capacity over 350 cm³ with compressed gases (air, oxygen, nitrogen, argon, breathing mixtures, etc.).

Filling portable pressure vessels (such as diving cylinders, firefighter breathing apparatuses, or technical gas cylinders) with compressed gases requires a qualification certificate issued by the Office of Technical Supervision (UDT). Statutory regulations impose this obligation on all professionals filling cylinders in rescue services, diving, industry, or laboratories. Our one-day preparatory course at COCH Kraków provides comprehensive theoretical and practical preparation and coordination of the state examination on-site.

Our training on filling portable pressure vessels with a capacity exceeding 350 cm³ is designed for a wide range of professionals working with various compressed and liquefied gases. Safely filling these cylinders is crucial to ensure the safety of divers underwater, firefighters in smoky environments, and technicians operating high-pressure installations in industry and laboratories.

The curriculum combines theoretical lectures with intensive practical workshops at professionally prepared COCH training stations. Participants learn, among other things, how to interpret markings and engravings stamped on cylinders, verify their technical condition and validation status, operate air and oxygen compressors, safely connect cylinders to filling manifolds, monitor pressure, and understand the properties of compressed gases and breathing mixtures.

All-inclusive organizational package

To secure your seat, prepayment is required at least 3 business days before the course begins. Comprehensive training booklets, all UDT registration forms, full catering (including a warm restaurant lunch), and free on-site parking at COCH are completely included in the course fee.

What is the UDT Exam Like?

A two-stage assessment of qualifications before inspectors of the Office of Technical Supervision.

The state exam takes place immediately after the training at the COCH headquarters in Kraków. It consists of two independent parts, both of which must be passed:

UDT Cylinder Filler Permit - legal base

A qualification certificate for the filling of portable pressure equipment is issued by the Office of Technical Supervision (UDT) in Poland. It confirms competence under technical safety standards and authorizes safe handling and filling of portable gas cylinders. Highly essential for divers, firefighters, and technical gas operators.

01

Theoretical Part (Oral)

A discussion with the examination commission. The candidate draws a question set: 2 general questions (minimum 1 pass required) and 3 specialized questions on the gas group (minimum 2 passes required).

02

Practical Part (On-Station Exam)

Performing portable cylinder filling (such as a diving cylinder or firefighter breathing cylinder). The inspector assesses: cylinder condition evaluation, connection correctness, pressure gauge checks, compliance with H&S rules, and proper tagging of the filled cylinder.

03

Issuance of UDT Credentials

Upon passing the exam, the Office of Technical Supervision issues an official, plastic qualification certificate authorizing the filling of portable pressure vessels. Credentials are valid indefinitely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about the portable cylinder filling training? Check the answers below.

No. Diving certifications (such as PADI, CMAS) or firefighting training (PSP/OSP) focus on the skills required for safe diving operations or firefighting rescue with breathing equipment. They do not authorize filling cylinders. A portable cylinder filling qualification issued by UDT is mandatory by Polish law for operating high-pressure compressors and filling manifolds, ensuring technical safety and eliminating cylinder explosion risk.
