How does personnel certification (e.g. brazing) work?

Personnel certification verifies that a technician can safely and correctly perform a specific technical activity - for example brazing permanent joints in refrigeration systems. Candidates complete a practical and theoretical assessment under our AC 056 accreditation, and successful candidates receive a certificate valid for a defined period, subject to periodic renewal.

Are certificates issued by COCH recognised internationally?

Yes. As an accredited body operating under PCA and as EU Notified Body No. 1462, our certificates - including HP KEYMARK, CE conformity assessments, and personnel certificates - are recognised across all EU member states and by international partners who accept PCA accreditation.

What is OiB certification for defence and security products?

OiB (Obronność i Bezpieczeństwo) certification confirms that a product intended for military or security use meets the required technical standard, such as NO-06-A107:2021. COCH holds accreditation scope 70/MON/2026 granted by the Minister of National Defence, allowing us to conduct conformity assessments for defence-sector manufacturers.

About the Certification Department

COCH Kraków operates an independent Certification Department accredited by PCA under AC 036 (products) and AC 056 (personnel), and holds EU Notified Body status No. 1462.

As an accredited body under EN ISO/IEC 17065 and EN ISO/IEC 17024, we certify products and personnel with documented, audited procedures recognised across the EU.

Centralny Ośrodek Chłodnictwa COCH also holds active Notified Body status (No. 1462) for the Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU. Our schemes include HP KEYMARK, B-Mark, GDP, OiB defence products and technical recommendations.

This means every certificate we issue is backed by documented, audited procedures and is recognised by regulators and clients across the EU.

HP KEYMARK is a voluntary European quality mark for heat pumps, based on EN 14511/EN 14825 performance testing. Manufacturers submit products for testing at an accredited laboratory (such as COCH), and our Certification Department reviews the test reports, conducts a technical assessment, and issues the KEYMARK licence confirming compliance with the scheme rules - recognised across the EU as proof of stated performance.

An accredited certification body (such as COCH under PCA AC 036) issues voluntary product or personnel certificates against a standard. A Notified Body is additionally designated by a government authority to assess conformity under EU directives. COCH holds both roles: we are an accredited certification body, and we are also Notified Body No. 1462 under PED 2014/68/EU (Pressure Equipment Directive), allowing us to support the full path to CE marking.
